United Christian Faith Ministries - Chaplaincy

If you are feeling called to minister as a Chaplain through United Christian Faith Ministries then praise God! Before proceeding any further though, we need to share a few requirements with you. Please read through this website. Joining UCFM Chaplaincy Ministry is a commitment but for the called it is also a privilege.

Requirements – UCFM Chaplains are ministers called to serve God’s people as commissioned by the Holy Sacred Word of God.

• Candidates for the Chaplaincy Ministry must be ordained by UCFM as a minister in good standing and have a minimum of 1 year ministry experience prior to application. (Credit can be given for other types of ministry service, but must be spelled out specifically for the Board to consider.
• A candidate must submit a completed application for review by the Chaplain Coordinators. (All applications are reviewed weekly.)
• A candidate must be accepted into the Chaplain program.

The first step is to be accepted into the UCFM Chaplain program:

·         Complete a Chaplain application

·         Pass Criminal Background Check by UCFM

·        UCFM Chaplain Trainee

Emergency Services Chaplaincy

 

Jail & Prison Chaplaincy - To train as a Jail & Prison Chaplain you first must complete the training and be certified as an Emergency Services Chaplain.

·         Complete and Pass the World Religions Made Easy Quiz with 75% grade or better

·         Current and valid driver’s license/ID

·         Mental Health: Self-Care course (Free)

o   Emergency Services Chaplain

§  Prerequisite: UCFM Chaplain Trainee

Emergency Services Chaplains bring comfort and consolation to all persons in need with special emphasis on those confronted with fires, death, accidents or natural / manmade disasters. UCFM ESC chaplains also provide guidance, survivor support, and counseling and may also assist individuals by referring them to other care providers or agencies. The role of the ESC Chaplain is to be a representative of God bearing witness to His forgiving and redeeming power in accordance with II Cor 1: 3-4

o   NIMS IS-100 Course (Free)

o   Psychology and Crisis Response Certificate Course (Free)

o   Improving Understanding and Collaboration among First Responders (Free)

The Jail and Prison Chaplain provides a vital part of the whole process within the law enforcement community. The primary goal of the prison Chaplain is to provide pastoral care to the inmate.  The Chaplain becomes pastor to the inmates as well as their teacher in spiritual matters.
